Job Purpose: To ensure that all AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) block products manufactured meet required quality standards, regulatory compliance, and customer expectations. The Quality Control Specialist will monitor raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods through systematic testing, inspection, and documentation. Key Responsibilities: Quality Testing & Inspection Conduct routine inspection and testing of raw materials (cement, fly ash, lime, gypsum, aluminum powder, etc.) for compliance with ISI standards. Monitor in-process production parameters such as slurry density, casting quality, cutting accuracy, and curing process. Perform physical and mechanical tests on AAC blocks (density, compressive strength, water absorption, fire resistance, dimensional accuracy, etc.). Maintain proper documentation of test results and generate quality reports. Process Control Ensure adherence to process parameters (mix ratios, autoclaving pressure & temperature, curing cycle). Identify deviations in production and recommend corrective & preventive actions (CAPA). Coordinate with the production team to minimize wastage and improve efficiency. Compliance & Standards Ensure all AAC blocks meet BIS/ISI standards (e.g., IS 2185 (Part 3): 1984). Support certification audits (ISO, ISI, or other quality certifications). Maintain calibration records for testing equipment. Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly quality records. Prepare NCR (Non-Conformance Reports) and track resolution. Present quality performance reports to management. Continuous Improvement Suggest process improvements to enhance product strength, durability, and consistency. Conduct root cause analysis for customer complaints or internal rejections. Train operators and workers on quality awareness and best practices. Qualifications & Skills: Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Material Science, or related field. Experience: 2–5 years of quality control experience in AAC block manufacturing / cement / construction materials industry. Technical Skills: Knowledge of ISI standards for AAC blocks. Hands-on experience in compressive strength testing, density testing, water absorption tests, and related QC methods. Familiarity with laboratory equipment and calibration procedures. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and report-writing skills. Ability to work in a team and coordinate with production staff. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): % of batches meeting ISI quality standards. Reduction in rejections and wastage. Timely submission of QC reports. Successful completion of audits and certifications.
