Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Microbiology Technician to support laboratory operations in the Microbiology Department. The candidate will be responsible for sample processing, testing, reporting assistance, and maintaining laboratory standards in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, label, and process clinical specimens for microbiological analysis
• Perform routine microbiology tests, including staining, culture, and sensitivity testing
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Ensure adherence to biosafety, infection control, and quality assurance protocols
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, registers, and reports
• Assist microbiologists and pathologists in diagnostic procedures
• Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per hospital policy
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laboratory
• Follow NABL / hospital standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Educational Qualification

• B.Sc. + MLT (Medical Laboratory Technology)

OR

• B.Sc. + DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology)

OR

• 12th (Science) + DMLT

Preferred Candidate Profile

· Experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory

· Exposure to NABL-accredited lab practices (preferred)

· Willingness to work in shifts if required
