We are looking for an experienced Miller to join our growing team and contribute to the continued success of our operations. Job Summary: The Miller will be responsible for operating milling machines to perform precision machining tasks on various materials, including metals, plastics, and composites. This role requires a high level of technical skill and attention to detail to produce parts that meet tight tolerances and quality standards. Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate milling machines (manual and CNC- at a later stage) to machine parts according to specifications, blueprints, and technical drawings. Precision Machining: Perform operations such as milling, drilling, tapping, boring, and grinding to create components as per work orders. Quality Control: Inspect and measure parts to ensure accuracy, meeting the required tolerances using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools. Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of milling machines to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to understand the design and manufacturing requirements. Material Handling: Select and load raw materials for machining, ensuring they are properly aligned and securely fastened. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine malfunctions or discrepancies in parts, ensuring minimal downtime. Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to improve machining processes and enhance production efficiency. Safety: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment at all times, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating milling machines in a manufacturing or production environment (CNC and/or manual). Technical Skills: Strong understanding of machine setup, operation, and maintenance. Familiarity with CNC programming is an advantage. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining is a plus. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with tight tolerances. Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly. Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials (up to [weight]), and work in a factory setting. Preferred SkillsExperience with specific types of milling machines (e.g., vertical, horizontal, or specialized CNC machines). Familiarity with advanced CAD/CAM software.
