Job Summary: The Miller will be responsible for operating milling machines to perform precision machining tasks on various materials, including metals, plastics, and composites. This role requires a high level of technical skill and attention to detail to produce parts that meet tight tolerances and quality standards. Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate milling machines (manual and CNC- at a later stage) to machine parts according to specifications, blueprints, and technical drawings. Precision Machining: Perform operations such as milling, drilling, tapping, boring, and grinding to create components as per work orders. Quality Control: Inspect and measure parts to ensure accuracy, meeting the required tolerances using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools. Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of milling machines to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to understand the design and manufacturing requirements. Material Handling: Select and load raw materials for machining, ensuring they are properly aligned and securely fastened. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine malfunctions or discrepancies in parts, ensuring minimal downtime. Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to improve machining processes and enhance production efficiency. Safety: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment at all times, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating milling machines in a manufacturing or production environment (CNC and/or manual). Technical Skills: Strong understanding of machine setup, operation, and maintenance. Familiarity with CNC programming is an advantage. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining is a plus. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with tight tolerances. Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly. Set up and operate conventional and DRO milling machines as per job requirements. Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and process sheets accurately. Perform job setup — including clamping, alignment, and tool setting — using jigs and fixtures when required. Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds based on material and finish requirements. Carry out rough and finish machining operations with close tolerances. Ensure dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges. Maintain machines, clean work area, and ensure adherence to safety standards. Record daily production details, machine downtime, and tool usage logs. Coordinate with supervisors and quality inspectors to resolve machining or dimensional issues. Support junior operators or helpers when required for loading/unloading and setup.

About the Role We are looking for a skilled and responsible CNC Lathe Operator to join our machining team. The candidate will be responsible for independently setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC turning machines to produce high-precision components as per engineering drawings and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Machine Operation & SetupSet up and operate CNC lathe machines according to production plans. Load raw materials, set cutting tools, and adjust machine parameters. Perform offsets, tool changes, and adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy. Read and interpret engineering drawings, G-codes, and process sheets. Production & Quality Produce components within specified tolerances and surface finish levels. Use measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and thread gauges. Conduct in-process quality checks and maintain inspection records. Ensure parts meet quality standards before submitting to next process. Maintenance & Documentation Perform basic machine maintenance and keep machines clean and operational. Monitor tool wear and request replacements when required. Maintain daily production logs, tool usage reports, and rejection records. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety protocols and workshop guidelines. Ensure proper handling of tools, raw materials, and finished goods. Comply with ISO/quality management standards. Requirements Education & ExperienceITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Fitter, Machinist, or related field. Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating CNC lathe machines. Experience in Fanuc / Siemens / similar controllers preferred. Skills Strong understanding of machining process parameters. Ability to read engineering drawings (GD&T knowledge is a plus).
