Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for a Junior Android Developer, located in New Delhi with some work-from-home flexibility. The Junior Android Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining Android applications, debugging and troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and design new features. Additional responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code, conducting code reviews, and staying up-to-date with the latest Android development trends and technologies. Qualifications Proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming languages Experience with Android SDK and Android Studio Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating with backend services Knowledge of mobile application architecture and design principles Good understanding of UI/UX design principles Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Experience in the ride-share or transportation industry is a plus Develop, maintain, and optimize Android application features for our ride-sharing platform. • Integrate Google Fleet Engine APIs for trip management, vehicle tracking, and routing. Collaborate with backend developers, designers, and product managers to deliver scalable features. • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Kotlin code following best practices. • Work with version control systems (Git/GitHub/GitLab) for code collaboration and deployment. • Debug, troubleshoot, and fix issues to ensure app stability and performance. • Stay updated with the latest Android development trends, tools, and best practices. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). • 0–2 years of Android development experience (internships, academic, or personal projects acceptable). • Proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK. • Knowledge of Android Jetpack libraries (ViewModel, LiveData, Room, etc.). • Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and JSON data handling. • Experience with version control systems (Git). • Familiarity with Google Maps SDK or location-based services (bonus). • Eagerness to learn and work on large-scale ride-sharing solutions. Nice to Have (Preferred Skills) • Experience with Google Fleet Engine integration. • Knowledge of Firebase (Crashlytics, Analytics, Push Notifications). • Exposure to clean architecture (MVVM/MVI). • Understanding of real-time features (WebSockets, MQTT, or Firebase Realtime Database).
