Kathak Dance Teacher

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Kathak Dance Teacher to join our school's performing arts department. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of classical Kathak, teaching experience with children, and a flair for choreographing performances for school events and competitions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Kathak dance techniques, theory, and history to students across various age groups.
• Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with students' skill levels.Prepare students for annual functions, cultural programs, inter-school competitions, and other performances.
• Conduct regular assessments and provide feedback on student progress.
• Maintain discipline, decorum, and respect for the art form in the dance class.
• Collaborate with music teachers and the schools cultural committee for integrated performances.
• Encourage creativity and appreciation for Indian classical dance.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing of students during dance sessions.
• Stay updated with new trends in classical dance and pedagogy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Performing Arts (Dance) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Formal training in Kathak (preferably under a recognized Guru or institution).
• Minimum 25 years of teaching experience, preferably in a school environment.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Desirable:

• Experience in choreographing group and solo performances.
• Ability to teach basic fusion or semi-classical for variety.
• Certification from recognized dance boards like Gandharva Mahavidyalaya or Prayag Sangeet Samiti (preferred).
• Passionate about working with children and nurturing their talents.
