The physician will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to adult patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses. The role requires exceptional clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities Conduct thorough medical evaluations, physical examinations, and assessments of adult patients. Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of clinical care. Provide inpatient and outpatient medical consultations as required. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests such as laboratory investigations, imaging studies, and ECGs. Manage critical care and emergency medical situations in coordination with the ICU and emergency teams. Ensure accurate documentation of patient history, clinical findings, treatment plans, and follow-ups in the hospital filing system. Coordination & Collaboration Collaborate with specialists, nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and clinical audits. Offer guidance and supervision to junior doctors, interns, and residents. Patient Care & Communication Provide compassionate counseling and education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and preventive healthcare. Ensure patient satisfaction through empathetic communication and timely follow-up. Administrative & Compliance Maintain compliance with hospital policies and statutory medical regulations in Afghanistan. Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection control programs, and hospital committees as assigned. Ensure confidentiality, ethical practice, and adherence to medical code of conduct. Qualifications & Requirements MBBS from a recognized medical institution (mandatory). MD/DNB in Internal Medicine from an MCI/NMC-recognized university. Valid Registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or relevant State Medical Council. Proven clinical experience in internal medicine, hospitalist care, or general medicine practice. Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage high patient volumes. Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice. Preferred Skills Experience in ICU/critical care management. Familiarity with hospital EMR systems.
