This role will contribute to our mission of enhancing environmental practices across the maritime sector. Job Overview: As a Maritime Environmental Auditor at Viswa Digital, you will conduct environmental verification audits for ships, ensuring compliance with global standards such as MRV/ETS, IMO DCS, and CII. You will analyse ship performance data, assist in improving our quality management system, and collaborate with international teams to ensure high-quality audit results. Additionally, you will leverage your leadership skills to manage and guide the audit team, ensuring efficient operations and consistent delivery of audit services. Familiarity with Environmental ISO Standards will be key to performing audits and improving compliance. Key Responsibilities: Conduct Audits: Perform environmental audits on ships to verify compliance with MRV/ETS, IMO DCS, CII standards, and Environmental ISO Standards . Data Analysis: Analyse ship performance data to assess adherence to environmental regulations. Quality Management: Contribute to the improvement of Viswa Digitals internal quality management system. Team Leadership: Manage and guide the audit team, ensuring efficient execution of audits and achieving high standards. Collaboration: Work with international teams to ensure accurate, high-quality audit results and provide recommendations for improvements. Required Skills & Qualifications: Education: Relevant degree in Environment, Shipping, Engineering, Data Sciences, or Mathematics. Experience: Minimum 4-5 years in environmental auditing, preferably in quality, environment, or operations. Experience in ship operations or marine engineering is a plus. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills to oversee audit teams and ensure high-quality results. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of data analysis tools/programming languages is desirable. Familiarity with Environmental ISO Standards: Knowledge of ISO 14001 and other relevant environmental ISO standards to effectively perform audits. Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful insights. Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, resourcefulness, and the ability to work independently. Work Ethic: Strong business ethics and the ability to maintain independence and objectivity under pressure. Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of maritime environmental and performance regulations. Experience working within the framework of a QMS or similar standards. Auditing certifications (e.g., Certified Environmental Auditor) are an advantage. Lead the Central procurement strategy for marine fuel testing laboratoriessecuring consumables, equipment, analytical services, contracts, and laboratory quality infrastructure in support of compliant, standardized testing at all locations. Core Responsibilities Global Procurement Strategy & Execution Develop and manage sourcing strategies for materials, reagents, consumables (incl. ISO 17025 certified supplies), analytical instruments, and testing services across marine fuel testing labs worldwide. Lead RFPs, RFQs, contract negotiations, pricing, supplier selection, and vendor management ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and service reliability. Coordinate longterm contracts and spot purchases for fuel testing needs, aligning with shipping and fuel operations. Laboratory Quality & Regulatory Compliance Ensure procurement supports compliance with ISO 17025 (testing standards), ISO 9001, and marine fuel regulations such as IMO 2020, EU Sulphur, etc. Partner with laboratory quality assurance teams to maintain accreditation, documentation, and SOPs for testing and materials usage. Supplier & Laboratory Service Oversight Engage and manage relationships with fuel testing labs, third-party service providers, surveyors, and certification agencies globally. Monitor supplier performance through KPIs (on-time delivery, material purity, cost variance, service reliability). CrossFunctional Coordination Liaise with central marine operations, vessel technical teams, fuel procurement operations, and sustainability functions to ensure fuel testing support aligns with broader procurement and decarbonization strategies. Provide regular updates, forecasting, analytics and spend reports to senior leadership and finance stakeholders. Risk, Quality & Cost Management Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks (e.g. reagent shortages, equipment service delays, fuel spec changes, regulatory shifts). Negotiate service level agreements (SLAs), optimize procurement cycles, and align strategic initiatives like biofuel or alternative fuel testing where applicable. Qualifications & Experience Education : Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Procurement, Chemistry, Marine Science, or related field; Master’s/MBA preferred. Experience : 8–12+ years of procurement experience with 3–5 years managing global lab procurement, preferably in regulated (ISO 17025) testing environments supporting marine fuels. Demonstrable experience in marine fuel procurement or fuel testing ecosystem is a strong advantage. Technical & Analytical Competence : Knowledge of lab instrumentation, chemical consumables, marine fuel properties (e.g. sulphur content, viscosity specs), and quality control systems. Familiarity with best procurement systems like Inflow etc Regulatory & Quality Systems KnowHow : Understanding of ISO 17025 accreditation, fuel quality norms, audit processes and lab compliance frameworks. Skills : Strong negotiation, vendor management, analytical, communication, and crosscultural stakeholder engagement. Ability to travel across regions, manage remote lab networks, and collaborate globally.
