Experienced in setting up molecular lab for high throughput SNP genotyping (TaqMan/KASP) platforms. Molecular marker identification for hybrid purity, line purity and varietal differentiation, real time PCR based genetic purity analysis, DNA fingerprinting for crop varieties and hybrids, use of molecular markers for backcross breeding, trait analysis using molecular tools, handling of NGS and sequencing data. Build and lead a strong research team at the research center. Plan and conduct comprehensive research programs which further the development of products or support associated research projects Identify internal and external customer needs. Survey literature pertaining to markers for each crop. Developing a panel of markers for genotyping for each crop. Identify important characters / crop for MAS and set priorities after discussion with breeder. Formulation of project for each case, discuss and finalize with MD. Implementation of the programme: make detailed plan time line/ work load/ people / resources for implementing the projects. Identify monitorable for each project and keep track in each project. Implementation of the project in all its details with or without the help of scientists in the project, if need in some cases.
