Kafka Developer
Role & Responsibilities
  1. Technically sound in multiple distributions such as Cloudera, Confluent, and open source Kafka.
  2. Strong knowledge of Kafka and Zookeeper.
  3. Experienced in capacity planning and performance tuning.
  4. Expertise in implementing security in the Hadoop ecosystem, including Ranger, Kerberos, SSL, etc.
  5. Expertise in DevOps tools such as Ansible, Nagios, shell scripting, Python, Jenkins, Git, Maven, etc., for automation implementation.
  6. Ability to monitor, debug, and perform root cause analysis (RCA) for any service failure.
  7. Knowledge of network infrastructure (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, firewall, router, load balancer, etc.).
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Provide RCAs for critical and recurring incidents.
  10. Provide on-call service coverage within a larger group.
  11. Good aptitude in multi-threading and concurrency concepts.
Preferred Candidate Profile
  • Prepare SOPs, gather asset information, and create architecture diagrams.
  • Prepare operational manuals. DB Admin L3 will provide subject matter expertise for DB administrators, resolve complex issues, and guide and coach L2 engineers.
  • Provide recommendations for service improvement.
Desired Certifications
  • Any associate-level cloud certifications from the proposed CSP are mandatory.
  • Kafka Certification.
