Job Description

Role & responsibilities

The Junior Accounts Executive is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, assisting in statutory compliance, and providing administrative support to the finance function. The role requires basic accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and adherence to organizational financial policies and procedures.

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain books of accounts including entries for receipts, payments, journal entries, and ledger posting.
  • Assist in preparation of vouchers, invoices, debit/credit notes, and expense statements.
  • Record and reconcile bank transactions and cash books on a regular basis.

Billing & Receivables

  • Support invoice generation and tracking of customer payments.
  • Follow up on outstanding receivables and maintain aging reports.
  • Assist in reconciliation of customer accounts.

Payables & Expenses

  • Verify vendor bills, expense claims, and supporting documents.
  • Assist in processing vendor payments as per approval matrix.
  • Maintain vendor master data and reconciliation statements.

Compliance & Reporting Support

  • Assist in preparation of data for GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, or other statutory filings (as applicable).
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Provide required accounting data during audits and internal reviews.

Documentation & Records

  • Maintain proper filing of accounting records, invoices, and statutory documents (physical and electronic).
  • Ensure compliance with internal finance procedures and documentation requirements.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software (Tally / ERP preferred)
  • Understanding of GST and basic statutory requirements is an advantage

Behavioral & Functional Skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
  • Basic communication and coordination skills
