Who You Are We are seeking a Cloud Backup Engineer who will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and supporting our cloud-centric backup infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in modern data protection solutions, including Commvault, Veeam Backup & Replication (including VeeamOne, Orchestrator, VSPC, Cloud Connect), Microsoft 365 backup strategies, Azure Backup, and other public cloud backup technologies, alongside your understanding of traditional backup solutions like Barracuda Backup and Datto. You will lead end-to-end deployment and support in cloud and hybrid environments, tackling complex data protection challenges and ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our backup systems. What You'll Do As a Cloud Backup Engineer , you will be responsible for: Veeam Data Cloud / Veeam Backup and Recovery Management: Deploying, configuring, and managing Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam Data Cloud for M365. Implementing Microsoft 365 backups for Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Entra ID, utilizing both Veeam Data Cloud and the native Azure Backup capabilities. Creating and maintaining backup jobs, replication jobs, and disaster recovery plans. Monitoring backup jobs, alerts, and health of systems. Troubleshooting and resolving backup and recovery issues. Optimizing backup and recovery processes to improve performance and reduce storage consumption. Day-to-day operational activities such as restoration testing, break/fix, general upkeep of platforms. Deploying, configuring, and managing Commvault is a plus. Storage Management: Working with storage administrators to ensure sufficient storage capacity for backups. Understanding storage technologies such as SAN and NAS. Troubleshooting storage-related issues affecting backups. Security and Compliance: Implementing and maintaining security best practices for the backup platform environments. Ensuring compliance with relevant data protection regulations. Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for backup configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Qualifications Backup & Recovery Expertise: Strong understanding of Veeam Backup & Replication with advanced features (SureBackup, SureReplica, Instant Recovery) including Veeam Data Cloud for M365. Experience with database backups/restoration (SQL preferred). Commvault backup implementation and administration is a plus. Infrastructure Knowledge: Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS) and experience working with Windows Server operating systems (including 2019 & 2022). Familiarity with VMware, Citrix, Windows, Azure, AWS, Active Directory, GPO, DHCP, DNS, DFS, ADFS Administration is a plus. Linux Administration: Demonstrated ability to manage and troubleshoot Linux-based systems, including command-line operations, user management, and system configuration is a plus. Problem-Solving & Technical Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex configuration issues within multi-vendor, multi-site infrastructures. Communication & Professional Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience working for an MSP, VAR, or solution provider supporting multiple customer accounts is preferred.
