We are hiring for a client for the position of Central Maintenance Head- AGM/DGM Industry: Iron & Steel / Mining Experience: Minimum 15 Years Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Central Maintenance Department (mechanical & electrical teams). Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant equipment including steel melting shop (SMS), rolling mills, continuous casting machines (CCM), furnaces, utilities, and auxiliaries . Drive preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and minimize production losses. Oversee maintenance planning, shutdown activities, and spare parts management. Ensure strict compliance with safety, statutory, and environmental regulations . Implement maintenance best practices such as TPM, RCM, energy efficiency, and digital tools (CMMS). Control maintenance budgets, optimize costs, and drive continuous improvement in reliability. Build, guide, and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of accountability and technical excellence . Collaborate with production, projects, and quality teams to support business objectives. Qualifications & Experience B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute. Minimum 15 years of experience in maintenance within the iron & steel industry (long products/special steels preferred) . Proven leadership in managing plant-wide maintenance functions . Expertise in either mechanical or electrical maintenance with strong working knowledge of the other domain. Strong exposure to rolling mills, furnaces, CCM, SMS, and utility systems . Demonstrated track record in implementing preventive & predictive maintenance, reliability improvement, and cost optimization . Excellent people management, analytical, and communication skills.

Role & responsibilities : Lead and supervise all electrical maintenance activities for EAF, Ladle Furnace (LF), and associated SMS equipment. Ensure uninterrupted operation of high-voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, and automation controls. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for electrical assets. Coordinate with production and mechanical teams to align maintenance with operational goals. Monitor and optimize energy consumption, electrode usage, and power factor correction. Maintain records of maintenance activities, spares inventory, and equipment history. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, statutory regulations, and ISO systems. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in reliability, energy efficiency, and cost control. Lead a team of electrical engineers, technicians, and contractors. Preferred candidate profile : Diploma /B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. 15- 20 years of experience in electrical maintenance within steel plants, with at least 5 years in EAF (Electrical Arc Furnace ) operations. Strong expertise in high-power furnace systems, automation, and industrial electrical networks. Hands-on experience with Siemens, ABB, or similar PLC/SCADA platforms. Familiarity with special steel production environments and clean steel practices is preferred. Skills & Competencies Leadership and team-building capabilities.
