Position: Senior Process Engineer Role Summary The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for leading process design, engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives across greenfield and brownfield projects. The role focuses on process optimization, debottlenecking, scale-up activities, technology transfer, process safety, and the development of automation and control logic. The position requires strong technical expertise, cross-functional coordination, and a commitment to operational excellence. --- Key Responsibilities 1. Process Design & Engineering Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, equipment datasheets. Perform equipment sizing, hydraulic calculations, and process simulations. Lead engineering activities from conceptual design through commissioning. Conduct feasibility studies, scale-up evaluations, and technology transfer. --- 2. Project Management & Coordination Coordinate with EPC partners, consultants, licensors, and internal stakeholders. Review engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with specifications, standards, and statutory codes. Support procurement through technical evaluations, vendor document review, and clarifications. --- 3. Process Improvement & Debottlenecking Identify process constraints and drive improvements in yield, capacity, and energy efficiency. Troubleshoot process issues and support modifications to enhance plant performance. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. --- 4. Process Safety & Compliance Lead or participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and PSSR activities. Ensure full compliance with MOC procedures and process safety standards. Develop and update SOPs and contribute to long-term reliability and safety improvement initiatives. --- 5. Commissioning & Technology Transfer Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and plant startup. Develop and review SOPs, operation manuals, and training documents. Lead or support technology transfer from licensors, R&D, or development teams. --- 6. Automation & Control Develop and review control philosophies, control logic diagrams, and interlock schemes. Collaborate with Instrumentation & Control teams to ensure robust and safe process control. --- Qualifications & Skills Education B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline. Technical Skills Strong expertise in process design, PFD/P&ID preparation, and equipment sizing. Working knowledge of HAZOP and process safety methodologies. Proficiency in Aspen HYSYS / Aspen Plus or equivalent process simulation tools. Good understanding of industry codes, standards, and process automation principles. Professional Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and drive engineering decisions effectively.
