• Understanding of Garment Construction: Should know all parts of garments (neckline, seams, hems, placket, sleeve, etc.). • Knowledge of Measurement Standards: Must be able to check garments against size charts and tolerances. • Fabric & Trim Awareness: Should identify fabric defects, print issues, color variations, and faulty trims/zippers/buttons. • Stitch Types & Seams: Should know correct SPI (stitches per inch), seam types, and when wrong stitch type is used. 👁 2. Sharp Observation & Attention to Detail • Should easily notice small defects like loose threads, skipped stitches, stains, wrong labels, misprints, or mismatched panels. • Must have a good eye for color matching and symmetry in design or placement prints/embroidery.
