As a Senior Jewellery Designer & Design Manager, your role will involve leading and creating original high jewellery designs, focusing on exceptional craftsmanship, rare gemstones, and sophisticated aesthetics. You will be responsible for translating design briefs and brand ethos into unique, collectible jewellery pieces. Conceptualizing and illustrating detailed sketches by hand and digitally using tools like Procreate or Adobe will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. It will be essential to ensure that all designs align with the brand's creative identity, emphasizing timelessness, rarity, precision, and elegance. Researching global design trends, historical references, and gem innovations to continually evolve the creative direction will also be a crucial part of your role. In addition to creative direction and high jewellery design, you will be involved in collection development and curation. This will include strategizing and developing seasonal and capsule high jewellery collections from ideation to final prototype. Designing signature pieces that push the boundaries of design and highlight the brand's storytelling and material excellence will be part of your tasks. You will also prepare curated capsule series for high jewellery events, bespoke clients, and private exhibitions. Handling bespoke design requests from VIP clients, understanding their preferences, lifestyle, and personal stories to create heirloom-quality pieces will be a key responsibility in the client-centric custom design aspect of your role. Directing client-facing design consultations and presentations when required, with a deep understanding of ultra-high-net-worth expectations, will also be part of your duties. Collaborating closely with CAD teams and artisans to translate hand-drawn concepts into technically sound and manufacturable designs will be crucial. Reviewing and approving all CAD and 3D outputs, troubleshooting and optimizing structural complexities, especially in high jewellery engineering, will be essential in ensuring design accuracy and quality. Leading, inspiring, and mentoring a team of jewellery designers, CAD modelers, and interns will be part of your team management and mentorship responsibilities. Assigning design tasks, monitoring progress, conducting regular feedback sessions, and collaborating with cross-functional departments for smooth execution of collections will also be important aspects of your role. As a Brand Steward, you will serve as a guardian of the brand's design heritage and visual identity. Maintaining a detailed archive of all original designs, sketches, prototypes, and final pieces, ensuring quality and aesthetic control, and overseeing vendor and artisan liaison for complex artisanal requirements will be crucial in upholding the brand's exclusivity and rarity. Your role will also involve budget and resource planning, assisting in the allocation of design and production budgets related to high jewellery pieces, and overseeing design resource planning. You will collaborate with merchandising, sales, and production teams, manage the movement of jewellery pieces between departments, and support internal merchandising decisions by providing creative input on product assortment and design lifecycle management. Essential skills for this role include exceptional hand-sketching and design development ability, strong aesthetic judgment, advanced understanding of jewellery construction and engineering, mastery of CAD tools and Adobe Creative Suite, deep understanding of gemstones and stone setting techniques, strong leadership and communication skills, organizational abilities, client-focused mindset, discretion, professionalism, and a proven portfolio of original high jewellery creations. The compensation range for this position is negotiable, and the location of posting is in Gurgaon, Haryana. The role requires proficiency in both hand-drawn sketches and digital 3D CAD modeling, with a strong understanding of Indian jewellery design traditions, fashion trends, and global luxury jewellery sensibilities. Key Responsibilities: Conceptualize and develop new jewellery collections based on seasonal themes, customer preferences, and market trends. Create high-quality pencil sketches and hand-rendered designs to visualize new concepts. Develop accurate and detailed 3D CAD models (preferably using software like Rhino, MatrixGold, or JewelCAD) for manufacturing and client presentations. Work closely with merchandising, sourcing, and production teams to ensure designs are feasible for production while preserving creative intent. Stay up to date on Indian bridal, festive, and contemporary jewellery trends, interpreting them into commercially successful designs. Understand the intricacies of diamond grading, setting styles, and metalwork techniques to create structurally sound and aesthetically refined pieces. Create design documentation including technical drawings, measurements, and specifications for sampling and production teams Collaborate with marketing and brand teams for photo shoots, look books, and campaign concepts. Requirements: Bachelors or Diploma in Jewellery Design from a reputed institute (NIFT, GIA, SNDT, etc.) 5+ years of professional experience in high-end diamond jewellery design, with a strong portfolio covering both Indian traditional and modern contemporary pieces. Expertise in hand sketching and rendering techniques for jewellery concepts. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (preferably Rhino, MatrixGold, JewelCAD, or equivalent). Strong understanding of diamond grading, jewellery construction, and production processes. Excellent eye for detail, proportion, and aesthetics. Ability to handle multiple design projects under tight timelines. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Attributes: Prior experience with luxury retail brands or bespoke jewellery houses. Familiarity with lab-grown diamond trends and design adaptations.
