Key Responsibilities * Conduct Comprehensive Eye Examinations: Perform thorough routine and medical eye examinations for patients of all ages, including testing visual acuity, depth and color perception, and fields of vision. * Diagnose and Treat Ocular Conditions: Accurately diagnose vision defects (e.g., myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia) and manage, treat, or refer patients with ocular diseases (e.g., glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy). * Prescribe Corrective Measures: Determine and prescribe corrective lenses, including eyeglasses, contact lenses (standard and specialty fittings), and other vision aids. * Medication and Therapy: Prescribe appropriate medications for eye conditions and, where applicable, recommend vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation. * Patient Counseling: Educate patients on eye hygiene, vision safety, proper contact lens care, and how general health conditions (like diabetes or hypertension) can affect vision. * Pre- and Post-Operative Care: Provide excellent care for patients undergoing eye surgery, collaborating effectively with ophthalmologists. * Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records using our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. * Collaboration: Consult with and refer patients to ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers when necessary for specialized medical or surgical treatment. ✅ Qualifications and Skills Required: * Education: Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited school of optometry. * Licensure: Current, active, and unrestricted Optometry license in the state of [State Name]. * Clinical Proficiency: Proven ability to perform comprehensive exams and utilize various diagnostic equipment (e.g., visual field analyzer, fundus camera, OCT). * Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain diagnoses and treatment plans to patients. * Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to establish rapport with patients, colleagues, and staff.
