Java Technical Program Manager

As an Engineering Manager at GlobalLogic, you will lead high-performing engineering teams to deliver mission-critical software solutions. You will collaborate with senior leaders across various functions to drive technical direction and continuous improvement of engineering practices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead and manage multiple engineering teams responsible for designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-grade software systems. - Develop and execute strategic engineering initiatives aligning with business priorities and long-term vision. - Provide hands-on leadership in system architecture, design reviews, technical decision-making, and issue troubleshooting. - Partner with Product Management to define and deliver product roadmaps, ensuring scope, timelines, and quality targets are met. - Champion engineering best practices including code quality, security, testing automation, performance optimization, and maintainability. - Attract, hire, mentor, and retain top-tier engineering talent, fostering a culture of high performance, inclusivity, and continuous learning. - Establish and track meaningful KPIs, OKRs, and performance metrics to measure engineering effectiveness, delivery velocity, and product quality. - Drive agile delivery methodologies, improve estimation accuracy, and ensure on-time execution across sprints, releases, and cross-team dependencies. - Identify technical risks, system bottlenecks, and areas for architectural improvements; lead remediation and innovation efforts. - Promote a DevOps culture and collaborate with operations and security teams to ensure robust CI/CD pipelines, observability, and platform reliability. **Qualifications:** - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from a reputed institution. - Minimum of 14 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with at least 4 years in an engineering leadership role. - Demonstrated success in building and scaling high-performing engineering teams across geographies. - Extensive experience in building and managing enterprise applications using J2EE technologies, springboot framework, angular, etc. - Proficiency in modern software architectures, cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and microservices-based systems. - Strong expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies and distributed team delivery models. - Excellent organizational, people management, and stakeholder engagement skills. - Proven ability to manage budgets, resource allocation, and vendor partnerships. - Experience in leading large-scale refactoring, re-platforming, or system modernization initiatives. - Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitLab/GitHub, and other modern engineering toolchains.
