As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, youll dive deep into ground-breaking technologieslike machine learning and AIto craft novel software solutions that solve our customers high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. As part of our team, you'll contribute your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.
Responsibilities:
- As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, reliable and maintainable software solutions.
- You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and translate them into architectural/software designs that meet business needs.
- You will be coding and developing new features using the software best practices.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide guidance to software engineers during the development process.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks and issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies and frameworks to meet project requirements.
- Lead the design and implementation of complex software components and systems.
- You are a go-getter.
Qualifications Requirements:
- Minimum 8 yrs of experience in software product development with B. Tech / MTech in Computer Science.
- Strong expertise in core Java advanced features. E.g., streams, functional programming, virtual threads.
- Minimum experience of 5+ years in Spring Boot associated Spring features.
- Minimum experience of 4+ years of in driving/contributing towards HLD LLD, contribution towards code reviews coding practices (like clean code SOLID principles, OOAD)
- Minimum experience of 4+ years in building and driving microservices or SOA based software systems.
- Strong in algorithms data-structures.
Good to have:
- Knowledge/experience in Semiconductor domain.
- Experience in reactive programming.
- Agentic AI experience
