Key duties include enforcing hostel rules, coordinating maintenance and cleaning, managing meal services, resolving resident issues, maintaining records, and fostering a positive community environment. The role requires strong administrative, communication, and conflict-resolution skills, often including on-site presence and 24/7 availability for emergencies. Core Responsibilities Resident Welfare: Ensuring the general well-being, health, and hygiene of residents. Administrative Management: Supervising hostel operations, coordinating with staff, and managing records of residents and incidents. Security & Safety: Monitoring hostel security, enforcing safety protocols, and responding to emergencies. Discipline & Rules: Enforcing hostel rules fairly and consistently, and addressing resident misbehavior. Facilities Management: Overseeing the cleanliness, maintenance, and upkeep of hostel facilities. Community Building: Organizing activities to foster a sense of community and a positive living environment. Specific Tasks Allotting rooms and managing resident registers. Coordinating with kitchen staff for meal planning and ensuring food quality. Conducting regular inspections of rooms and common areas. Communicating with students, parents, and institutional administration. Providing counseling and guidance to students facing personal or academic challenges. Responding to and resolving conflicts or grievances among residents. Required Skills Interpersonal & Communication: Strong ability to connect with students and communicate effectively with staff and administration. Organizational & Time Management: Excellent skills to manage diverse tasks and responsibilities efficiently.
