Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IT Systems Administrator. The Systems Security Administrator is responsible for safeguarding the organizations IT infrastructure and digital assets from security threats. This role involves implementing robust security measures, monitoring systems for vulnerabilities or malicious activity, managing access controls, and ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Security Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive security policies, standards, and best practices across the organization. System & Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor system logs, network traffic, and user activities to detect and respond to potential threats or unauthorized access. Security Tool Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain security tools including firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection software. Vulnerability Assessments: Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and mitigate security risks. Incident Response: Investigate and respond to security incidents and breaches; perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures. Access Management: Administer user accounts, roles, permissions, and access control protocols to ensure only authorized access to systems and data. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and internal security frameworks. Data Security: Implement data protection strategies including encryption, DLP (Data Loss Prevention), and data classification protocols. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure system resilience. Security Awareness & Training: Conduct security awareness programs to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices and reduce human-related risks. Security Research & Risk Mitigation: Stay updated on emerging threats and vulnerabilities; assess potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Troubleshooting & Resolution: Diagnose and resolve security-related technical and procedural issues promptly. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (preferred) In-depth knowledge of information security principles, technologies, and practices Experience with security infrastructure and tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection) Strong grasp of operating systems (Windows/Linux) and network protocols Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, or CEH are advantageous
