Role & responsibilities Position: Production Head Experience: 15 to 20+ years in heavy fabrication industries with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Educational Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Company: Isgec Hitachi Zosen Ltd Location: Dahej, Gujarat Job Summary: The Production Head will oversee all activities in the heavy fabrication shop, ensuring the efficient and timely manufacturing of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, and other critical process equipment in compliance with international codes (ASME, TEMA, API, etc.). This role requires expertise in heavy fabrication, welding technologies, manpower planning, and production planning to deliver high-quality equipment for core industries like oil & gas, petrochemical, power, and chemical sectors. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the entire production process for heavy fabrication equipment. Plan, schedule, and ensure timely execution of fabrication activities to meet project deadlines. Supervise fabrication of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reactor and other critical equipment of fertiliser & petrochemical plants. Oversee welding operations including SAW, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW and ensure weld quality meets international standards. Ensure adherence to ASME Sec VIII DIV 1 & 2, TEMA, API, and ISO Standard of Quality and EHS. Optimize shop layout, material flow, and workforce efficiency. Review and interpret fabrication drawings, WPS/PQR/WPQ documents, and material specifications. Collaborate with QA/QC, Design, Planning, Procurement, and Safety departments. Monitor machine utilization, manpower productivity, and material usage. Troubleshoot bottlenecks in production and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Train and develop team members to improve skill levels and productivity. Ensure shop safety aspects and environment rules regulations. Key Skills, Competencies & Experience: In-depth knowledge of heavy fabrication and welding processes. Strong understanding of pressure vessel & heat exchanger manufacturing codes. Ability to read and interpret complex fabrication drawings and BOMs. Leadership and team management skills. Strong communication and decision-making capabilities. Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Ability to drive and motivate people to drive change.
