Role & responsibilities Conducts the nutritional assessment of all allocated patients on admission and reassessment subsequently. Visits the patient on a daily basis and records dietary intakes. Participates in routine menu planning activities. Checks changes in the prescribed menu by the Team Leader of the assigned area. Daily corrects the diets, to ensure that a restrictive diet doesnt get carried forward unnecessarily. In case the intake is not according to the plan, discusses with the concerned doctor and plans intervention accordingly. Gathers all personal, behavioural, medical and other relevant details of the patient (including eating patterns, likes and dislikes, food allergies) prior to planning a diet. Ensures that the food is hygienically cooked, served and distributed according to the diet plan on appropriate time and at the right temperature. Guides food service attendants on a regular basis for efficient diet delivery. Checks the quality of the food prepared on the floor assigned to the dietician. Ensures desired modification of the patients menu before the cut-off time. Keeps in mind age-specific and cultural needs of patients while prescribing diets to them. Uses the help of an interpreter when interacting and modifying the diets of international patients. Plans counselling session to educate patients and their family on appropriate diets. Preferred candidate profile Attention for details Decision making ability Good communication skills Knowledge of different diet requirements and therapeutics Mathematical and analytical skills Good communication skills Ability to communicate in the required languages Must be M.Sc in food & nutritions Must have relevant experience of 5 yrs to 10 Yrs of NABH / JCI Hospitals.
