Your New Role: As the Private Sector Specialist at the International Solar Alliance (ISA), you will be at the forefront of unlocking private sector investment in solar energy projects worldwide. Reporting to the Chief of Unit, Private Sector Engagement and Resource Mobilization, your responsibilities will include leading ISA's private sector engagement activities, designing and implementing innovative public-private partnerships, and advocating for policy interventions that support private sector participation in the global solar energy sector. If you have a strategic mindset, a passion for renewable energy, and a proven track record in private sector engagement, finance, technology, and policy, this role offers you the opportunity to make a significant global impact. Broader Scope of Work: In your role as the Private Sector Specialist, you will be responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of initiatives to engage the private sector in solar energy projects, establishing strategic platforms for global investments and collaboration, identifying and recommending strategic private sector partners, conducting analyses of baseline conditions and needs for renewable energy technologies, and preparing comprehensive stakeholder analyses. You will also contribute to expanding private sector engagement in the renewable energy sector, developing outreach strategies, and supervising the development of financial instruments to leverage private sector investments. Additionally, you will lead the development of strategic projects and partnerships in the renewable energy sector, translate innovative ideas into actionable plans, craft resource mobilization action plans, and manage a database of private sector investments in ISA member countries. Your role will also involve representing ISA's interests on private sector matters at various forums, building relationships with industry leaders and donors, and contributing to impactful collaborations. What you will need: Education: - A Masters degree or higher in business administration, economics, finance, electrical engineering, engineering, renewable energy, civil engineering, or a relevant discipline from an accredited university. - A bachelors degree with four additional years of relevant experience will also be considered. Experience Required: - A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in renewable energy systems with a focus on energy access, development infrastructure, power generation, and distribution. - At least 3 years of experience in facilitating private sector engagement, ideally within international development. - Experience in development finance, project management, and implementing private sector projects at the field level. - International experience and strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Language and IT Skills: - Excellent command of English is required, as it is the official language of the organization. - Knowledge of other languages such as French, Spanish, or Arabic would be advantageous. - Proficiency in Outlook, MS Office products, and ERP systems is highly desirable.,

As a senior professional in the field of fundraising and project financing, you will be leading the execution of a $1 billion fundraising initiative through various channels such as multilateral institutions, public bonds, equity markets, and private capital. Your responsibilities will include raising capital for key projects such as Konkola Copper Mines in Zambia and other projects in Africa and the Middle East. You will be tasked with developing and managing a comprehensive corporate finance framework, from engaging with lenders and investors to closing transactions. It will be crucial for you to design optimal capital structures based on project risk and business goals, utilizing different financing options such as debt, equity, convertibles, or blended financing. Your expertise in financial modelling, due diligence, documentation, and compliance will be essential throughout the financing lifecycle. Engaging with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), Export Credit Agencies (ECAs), global commercial banks, and investors to secure cost-effective long-tenor financing will be a key aspect of your role. You will also provide support to Vedanta Africa Businesses and other group companies on their international financing needs, requiring coordination with cross-functional teams and external advisors for successful and timely execution of financial strategies. To excel in this position, you should hold a Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA in Finance with over 15 years of experience in fundraising and project financing, preferably in infrastructure, energy, or capital-intensive sectors. Your proven track record in end-to-end project financing for large infrastructure projects, including structuring, syndication, negotiation, and closure, will be highly valued. Experience in arranging funding from Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) or Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) will be advantageous. Prior exposure to the African market and an understanding of the local financial and regulatory landscape will also be beneficial. Your leadership roles in corporate/project finance, investment banking, or structured finance should demonstrate strong financial acumen, investment judgment, and stakeholder engagement skills. The ability to work under pressure, handle complexity, and deliver high-impact results will be crucial for success in this role. Experience in working with rating agencies, conducting board-level presentations, and negotiating with investors will further enhance your profile.
