Job Title: Cyber Security Officer (Part-Time, Independent Contractor - Remote, Bulgaria) Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and vigilant Cyber Security Officer to join our team as an independent contractor. This role requires deep expertise in cyber and counter-intelligence operations, including detecting and neutralizing clandestine surveillance devices and cyber threats. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safeguarding the company, its employees, and owners from unauthorized surveillance, cyber attacks, and espionage, leveraging both cyber security and ex-military intelligence skills. This is a fully remote position based in India on a part-time basis. Key Responsibilities: *Conduct thorough counter-intelligence sweeps for detection and neutralization of spy microphones, hidden cameras, and other covert surveillance devices in any physical environment (rooms, offices, meeting spaces...). *Perform in-depth security assessments and countermeasures on electronic devices including phones, telephones, laptops, desktop computers, television sets, radio equipment, and other corporate hardware to identify unauthorized surveillance risks. *Utilize cyber intelligence techniques and military-grade security protocols to counter cyber attacks, including malware, ransomware, and hacking attempts targeting the company's digital assets. *Install, configure, and manage antivirus, antimalware, firewall, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to protect company networks and endpoints. *Develop, implement, and oversee company-wide security policies and procedures to prevent unauthorized access and clandestine surveillance. *Monitor network traffic and system logs to detect suspicious activities indicative of security breaches or espionage attempts. *Respond promptly and effectively to cybersecurity incidents, conducting root cause analysis and preserving digital forensic evidence. *Provide strategic security advice to company leadership regarding emerging surveillance threats and cybersecurity best practices. *Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest cyber threats, counter-surveillance technologies, and intelligence methodologies. *Coordinate or liaise with external security agencies and experts as needed to enhance corporate security posture. Qualifications & Skills: *Proven experience in cybersecurity, counter-intelligence, or military intelligence with expertise in detecting and mitigating unauthorized surveillance and espionage activities. *Strong technical skills covering electronic surveillance detection, cyber intelligence, and endpoint security. *Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, threat intelligence tools, and malware mitigation techniques. *Setting up and managing anti-virus, anti-malware, firewall, and intrusion detection/prevention systems for the company & staff. *Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision in a remote work environment. *Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to report findings clearly and recommend security improvements. *Prior experience as an ex-military intelligence officer or equivalent highly desirable. *Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or related qualifications are a plus.
