Material and Finish Selection

• Deep understanding of materials for residential use (wood, tiles, fabrics, paints)
  
• Knowledge of finishes suited for comfort, durability, and home ambiance
  

Lighting Design

• Design layered lighting schemes (ambient, task, and accent lighting)
  
• Select residential lighting fixtures appropriate for scale and mood
  

Furniture & Joinery Design

• Custom furniture or built-in cabinetry (kitchen, wardrobe, entertainment units)
  
• Detailing and material specifications for residential joinery
  

Client-Centered Design

• Interpreting lifestyle needs and personal tastes
  
• Ability to guide non-technical clients through the design process with empathy and clarity
  

Technical & Software Skills

• AutoCAD

  for drafting floor plans and interior details

• Revit

  – especially if working with architects on BIM-integrated homes

• SketchUp / Rhino

  – for conceptual modeling

• V-Ray / Lumion / Enscape

  – for realistic renderings

• Adobe Creative Suite

Project Management & Communication

• Managing residential projects from concept to completion
  
• Coordination with contractors, carpenters, electricians, and vendors
  
• Preparing BOQs (Bill of Quantities), budgets, and procurement lists
  
• Conducting site visits and ensuring design implementation quality
  

Qualifications & Other Requirements

• Degree

  in Interior Architecture, Architecture, or Interior Design
• A

  strong portfolio

  focused on residential projects (apartments, villas, renovations)
• Familiarity with

  local building codes

  , safety, and sustainability practices
• Understanding of

  smart home technologies

  or sustainable materials (a plus)
