HIH - Infrastructure Engineering Senior Manager - Enterprise Database Senior Manager


Position Overview:

Enterprise Database Services is looking for a Senior Manager to partner and help drive the vision of providing a best in industry array of database platform offerings that align with Cignas business needs across the enterprise and provide them in a secure and automated way. This role will lead a team of Enterprise DBAs responsible for our database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 LUW, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MongoDB Atlas, DB2 LUW, DB2 z/OS, etc). The Senior Manager is responsible for developing vision and strategy, focused on evolving and improving quality, reliability, and value of the database products. The successful candidate is

highly adaptable, and customer focused with a technical background and deep subject matter expertise. The Senior Manager is responsible for building high performing teams, leading transformational change, ensuring operational excellence, and driving to decisions.


Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a high performing team thru coaching and mentorship
  • Lead transformation change initiatives, prioritize work, and deliver measurable value
  • Maintain a focus on quality and customer satisfaction
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts through automation and process improvement
  • Work with infrastructure, architecture, development and engineering
  • Prioritize work efforts for the team based on changing needs and demands
  • Evaluate and help develop long-term strategic goals
  • Positively influences culture
  • Ensure compliance with the companys policies and procedures while developing solutions


Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working across multiple teams within a division and enterprise wide.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, negotiating, influencing, facilitation, organizational, prioritization, decision making, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong technical acumen, able to ensure that technical solutions, strategies, practices, and governance deliver business and customer value
  • Agility in dealing with a constantly changing business environment and areas of ambiguity
  • Ability to stay very organized while managing multiple tasks and activities


Required Experience & Education:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant field required
  • 13 - 16 years of relevant work experience
  • Takes initiative and is a self-starter
  • Ability to build trusted, productive partnerships between technology, business leaders and external partners
