About the role The Indian Dream is building a new kind of business magazine for founders and future founders – closer to The Hindu’s depth than to typical startup fluff. We are looking for an Editorial / Journalism Intern who wants to write exclusive, deeply-reported stories on Indian startups, sectors, and capital flows. You will work closely with the founder and editorial team to create stories that can sit comfortably next to the best longform business writing in India. Who this is ideal for Students currently pursuing or recently graduated in: B.A. / M.A. in Journalism, Mass Communication, or Media Studies , PG Diploma in Journalism / Mass Communication , or similar programs at reputed institutes. If you are from colleges like Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Asian College of Journalism (ACJ), Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication (SIMC), Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) or similar top journalism/media schools, that will be considered a strong plus. You read and respect publications like The Hindu , Frontline , The Caravan , or deep-dive business pieces, and want to do that quality of work in the startup ecosystem. What you will do Pitch and write exclusive, well-reported stories on founders, funds, and sectors featured in The Indian Dream. Conduct structured interviews with founders, investors, and operators, and turn them into sharp narratives. Work on sector explainers that combine data, on-ground quotes, and clarity of thought. Coordinate with design and product teams to ensure your stories are packaged well for web and magazine. Maintain high standards of fact-checking, sourcing, and neutrality , in line with serious business journalism. What we are looking for in you Strong written English , with the ability to handle both narrative features and reported pieces. Demonstrated interest: college magazine, personal blog, campus newspaper, bylines, or any serious writing samples. Curiosity about Indian startups, policy, capital, and sectoral shifts , not just funding headlines. Ability to work with deadlines and feedback , and iterate drafts quickly.
