Should Costing

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain
should-cost models
for mechanical, electrical, and plastic components using cost estimation tools and methodologies.
Analyze
RFQs, drawings, 3D models
, and
BOMs
to determine cost drivers.
Work with design, engineering, procurement, and suppliers to understand cost structures and support negotiations.
Conduct
cost breakdown analysis
of supplier quotes to identify potential cost reduction opportunities.
Benchmark pricing using internal databases, market trends, and industry standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence
design-to-cost
decisions during product development.
Monitor and track cost reduction initiatives and savings performance.
Assist in supplier development by evaluating manufacturing processes and cost efficiency.
Prepare and present cost reports, variance analyses, and recommendations to management.
