Essential qualification: Graduate in any stream Diploma in diamond grading from a reputed institute Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in complete grading of loose and mounted diamonds (4 Cs) as per GIA grading scale. Proficient in using various gemmological and grading tools like microscope, cut scanner, diamond screening machines for separating natural and lab-grown diamonds or non-diamonds. Grading experience in laboratory environment is preferred. Key responsibilities 1. Grading and Certification: Grade diamonds based on the 4Cs (Carat, Cut, Color, and Clarity) using international grading systems (e.g., GIA). Provide precise measurements of diamonds, including carat weight, table percentage, depth percentage, etc. Document findings and generate grading reports for each diamond or jewellery. Use microscopes, loupes, and other magnification tools to identify inclusions, blemishes, and any other internal or external features of the diamonds. Evaluate symmetry, polish, and fluorescence, noting any impact on the stone’s overall quality. 2. Data Entry and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all graded diamonds and jewellery in lab's database or grading system. Photography of the graded items. Ensure data integrity and confidentiality of client information. 3. Calibration and Maintenance of Equipment: Regularly calibrate and maintain grading equipment to ensure precision. 4. Collaboration: Work closely with gemmologists, laboratory technicians, and quality control personnel to maintain workflow efficiency and uphold grading standards.
