Job Title: Machine Learning Engineer Location: Cambridge, UK (Hybrid working – minimum 3 days on-site) Job Type: Permanent Salary: Competitive + Benefits Overview A high-performance computing company based in Cambridge is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join their expanding ML team. You will play a key role in developing and deploying machine learning models for applications such as speech recognition and large language models, with a strong focus on performance and efficiency. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of machine learning research and systems optimisation, with a particular emphasis on scalable model training and low-latency inference deployment. Essential Skills And Experience Strong experience in training machine learning models for real-world applications. MSc or PhD in a technical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Maths) with solid grounding in deep learning. Proficiency in PyTorch or TensorFlow. Experience working with large datasets (multi-TB scale). Familiarity with model compression techniques such as reduced-precision computation. Practical experience with Linux development environments, Git, and CI tools. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
