Maintenance Engineer : Job Title: Maintenance Engineer Department: Engineering / Maintenance Reports to: Chief Engineer / Maintenance Manager Job Summary: The Hotel Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems. The role requires hands-on technical skills, troubleshooting ability, and a proactive approach to maintain a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for guests and staff. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Troubleshoot and repair guestroom issues (AC, lighting, water supply, fixtures, etc.) in a timely manner. Maintain and repair kitchen, laundry, and other back-of-house equipment. Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance tasks. Maintain records of all maintenance activities, repair works, and service reports. Support housekeeping and front office teams by responding promptly to maintenance requests. Monitor utility consumption and recommend energy-saving initiatives. Assist in emergency situations such as power failures, fire alarms, or equipment breakdowns. Participate in renovation, upgrade, and new installation projects as required. Skills & Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical field. Proven experience in hotel/real estate/building maintenance (2–5 years preferred). Hands-on knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills and guest-oriented approach. Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and on-call duty as required.
