Job Summary The Pediatrician at Hitkari Hospital, Balotra will provide specialized medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. The role involves preventive health supervision, diagnosis and management of pediatric illnesses, developmental monitoring, and family counseling. The Pediatrician will ensure compassionate, ethical, and evidence-based clinical care in line with Hitkari Hospitals standards of excellence. Key Roles & Responsibilities 1. Clinical Responsibilities Examine, diagnose, and treat medical conditions in infants, children, and adolescents. Provide timely and appropriate treatment for common and complex pediatric illnesses. Conduct preventive health check-ups and monitor growth and development milestones. Prescribe and interpret diagnostic tests, X-rays, and laboratory investigations. Provide emergency care and manage critical pediatric and neonatal cases when required. Ensure safe administration of vaccines as per national immunization schedules. Counsel parents and guardians on child health, hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care. 2. Inpatient and Outpatient Management Attend OPD patients regularly as per hospital schedule. Conduct daily ward rounds for admitted pediatric and neonatal patients. Coordinate with nursing, NICU, and allied healthcare staff to ensure quality care. Manage follow-up consultations and continuity of care. Support and participate in pediatric emergency services and referral management. 3. Preventive and Developmental Health Conduct well-baby clinics and school health programs. Monitor and record childrens growth charts, development, and vaccination status. Promote preventive pediatric healthcare through awareness programs and parental counseling. Identify and address developmental, behavioral, and nutritional issues early. 4. Documentation & Record Keeping Maintain accurate and updated case sheets, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Record all treatments, procedures, and follow-up plans as per hospital policy. Ensure documentation is compliant with hospital and regulatory standards. 5. Administrative & Coordination Duties Participate in departmental and hospital review meetings. Assist in preparing pediatric department protocols, SOPs, and clinical guidelines. Cooperate with hospital management in audits, quality control, and accreditation activities. Support hospital outreach initiatives such as vaccination drives and medical camps. 6. Training & Professional Development Guide and mentor nurses, junior doctors, and interns in pediatric care practices. Participate in CMEs, workshops, and hospital-led training programs. Stay updated with recent medical research, technologies, and pediatric care standards. 7. Compliance & Ethics Follow all hospital policies on infection control, patient safety, and confidentiality. Uphold ethical medical practices and professional conduct at all times. Comply with NMC and statutory regulations applicable to pediatric practice. Preferred candidate profile Education: MBBS with MD/DNB/DCH in Pediatrics (recognized by NMC). Registration: Valid registration with State Medical Council / NMC. Experience: Minimum 1-5 years of post-PG experience in pediatric practice (hospital-based preferred). Working Conditions Full-time role with hospital-based duties, OPD, IPD, and on-call responsibilities as scheduled. Availability for pediatric and neonatal emergencies when required. Participation in hospital awareness, community health, and CSR activities.
