Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer BOM Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy machinery manufacturing (preferably rolling mills) and be responsible for creating accurate and timely Bills of Materials (BOMs) to improve operational efficiency, reduce production delays, and optimize inventory management. Key Responsibilities BOM Creation & Management: Develop, review, and maintain accurate and comprehensive BOMs for rolling mill and heavy machinery components. Design & Drafting: Work closely with the engineering team to create and modify mechanical designs using CAD software. Standardization: Implement best practices to standardize BOM structures, ensuring consistency across different projects. Cost Optimization: Collaborate with procurement and production teams to optimize BOMs for cost efficiency and material availability. Process Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to streamline BOM workflows, reducing lead times and minimizing errors. Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, procurement, and project management, to ensure smooth execution of projects. Technical Documentation: Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including specifications, material lists, and assembly instructions. ERP Integration: Ensure BOMs are correctly integrated into the company's ERP system for accurate production planning and inventory control. Requirements Experience: 5+ years in heavy machinery manufacturing (rolling mill experience preferred). Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Software Proficiency: Strong expertise in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and familiarity with ERP systems. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of steel rolling mill components, fabrication processes, and material selection. Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for accuracy in technical drawings and BOMs. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify inefficiencies in BOM processes and suggest improvements. Communication: Excellent teamwork and coordination skills to collaborate with different departments. Preferred Qualifications Experience in turnkey supply of rolling mills or similar heavy machinery.
