Job Title: SPI Instrumentation Designer

SPI System Management:

• Develop and maintain **instrument indexes, datasheets, and specifications** using **SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI)**

• Create and manage **loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and termination details** within SPI database

• Ensure **data consistency and integrity** across all instrumentation deliverables

• Generate **instrument lists, I/O lists, and hook-up diagrams** from SPI system

• Maintain **SPI database** and ensure compliance with project standards

Design & Drafting:

• Develop **instrument location plans, installation details, and cable block diagrams**
• Create **control panel layouts, junction box layouts, and instrument rack arrangements**
• Prepare **instrumentation layouts in 2D/3D environment** and coordinate with other disciplines
• Review **P&IDs** and ensure instrumentation representation accuracy

Technical Expertise:

• Minimum **5 to 10 years** of hands-on experience in **SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI)** for oil & gas projects
• Strong knowledge of **instrumentation standards** (ISA, IEC, API, ANSI/ISA-S5.1)
• Experience in **field instrumentation** (pressure, temperature, flow, level) and **control valves** selection
• Familiarity with **DCS/PLC systems, fire & gas systems, and SCADA**
• Understanding of **hazardous area classification** and **safety instrumented systems (SIS)**

Software & Analysis:

• Expertise in

  AutoCAD, SPI/INtools, MS Office

• Familiarity with

  S3D/SP Review/Navis Manage

  for 3D modelling review.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• BE/BTech in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering or related field
• Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering with additional experience

Preferred Skills

• Experience in **complete instrumentation package design** for oil & gas facilities
• Knowledge of **instrument data handover** and **SPI integration** with other SmartPlant tools |
• Ability to **generate reports** and **material take-offs (MTO)** from SPI
• Familiarity with **3D model review** tools (Navisworks, SmartPlant Review)
• Experience in **loop diagram generation** and **cable scheduling**
