As an experienced engineer specializing in polishing and lapping machines, you will play a crucial role in delivering technical leadership, supporting process optimization, and driving innovation in precision surface finishing applications. Your expertise in polishing and lapping technologies will make you the go-to person for equipment selection, process parameters, tooling, and quality control. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide expert guidance on the selection, operation, and maintenance of polishing/lapping machines - Optimize processes to achieve target surface finish, flatness, and dimensional tolerances across various materials - Drive the development and qualification of new polishing and lapping equipment - Troubleshoot complex equipment and process issues, and recommend corrective actions - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity, yield, and process consistency - Evaluate and qualify new equipment, abrasives, pads, slurries, and other consumables - Interface with vendors and suppliers to stay updated on industry trends and new technologies - Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process specifications, and technical documentation **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline - 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience with polishing and lapping machines in a high-precision manufacturing environment - Experience with both single-side and double-side lapping/polishing systems is highly desirable - In-depth knowledge of surface finishing principles, abrasive selection, process control, and metrology The company is looking for someone with strong problem-solving and analytical skills, the ability to lead technical discussions and projects, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and a continuous improvement mindset with a focus on precision manufacturing.,
