Role & responsibilities We are seeking a EHS Compliance Professional with 1520 years of experience , preferably in the battery manufacturing or recycling industry . The ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge of TNPCB regulations , be a certified Lead Auditor in EMS (ISO 14001), QMS (ISO 9001), and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 , and have hands-on experience in managing ETP, STP , and hazardous wastewater treatment systems . Experience in Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance is advantage. Preferred candidate profile Key Responsibilities : Ensure full compliance with TNPCB environmental regulations and obtain/renew all relevant consents Lead audits as a certified Lead Auditor for EMS, QMS, and OHSAS/ISO 45001 systems and oversee continual improvement programs. Manage end-to-end Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) activities including returns filing, documentation, recycler engagement, and CPCB portal updates. Operate, monitor, and optimize Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to meet prescribed discharge norms. Supervise hazardous waste and wastewater management processes including storage, treatment, transportation, and final disposal as per regulatory norms. Maintain and regularly update all statutory registers, environmental reports, manifests , and compliance dashboards. Liaise with regulatory bodies like TNPCB, CPCB, District Environmental Offices , and handle inspections, show-cause notices, and legal matters. Drive sustainability and pollution reduction initiatives across the organization. Train plant and EHS personnel on environmental laws, audit readiness, and process safety. Qualifications : B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering (mandatory) M.E./M.Tech in Industrial Safety or Diploma in Industrial Safety (mandatory as per Factories Act rules) Strong preference for candidates with experience in the battery industry (manufacturing or recycling)
