Key Responsibilities and DutiesThe primary duties of a manufacturing nurse include: First Aid and Emergency Care: Providing immediate medical care and first aid for on-site injuries or sudden illnesses, and coordinating with hospitals if necessary for emergency transfers. Health Assessments and Screenings: Conducting pre-employment, periodic, and return-to-work health assessments and screenings (e.g., vital signs, vision/hearing tests, immunizations). Workplace Safety and Hazard Identification: Performing regular workplace inspections to identify potential health and safety hazards (e.g., physical, chemical, ergonomic) and recommending corrective actions. Health and Safety Program Development: Developing, implementing, and managing health and wellness programs, including training sessions on injury prevention, hygiene, ergonomics, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Medical Records Management: Maintaining accurate, confidential medical records for all employees in compliance with privacy laws and documentation standards. Compliance and Collaboration: Collaborating with management, HR, safety teams, and occupational health physicians to ensure the workplace complies with all relevant occupational health and safety regulations and standards. Case Management: Providing guidance and support to injured or ill employees throughout the recovery and return-to-work processes, including facilitating accommodations and rehabilitation.
