We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchase cum Production Engineer to join our team in the manufacturing of Vacuum Pumps and related equipment. This dual-role position requires a dynamic individual capable of managing both procurement activities and production planning to ensure timely, cost-effective manufacturing and delivery of high-quality products. Key Responsibilities: Purchase Responsibilities: Source and procure raw materials, mechanical components, castings, fasteners, seals, motors, and fabrication items as per BOM and engineering specifications. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate best pricing, delivery timelines, and quality terms. Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, and delivery criteria. Prepare purchase orders, track deliveries, and maintain accurate purchase records. Monitor inventory levels and forecast material requirements to avoid stockouts or overstocking. Coordinate with the accounts department for invoice processing and vendor payments. Production Responsibilities:Plan and schedule production activities based on sales orders and inventory levels. Coordinate with design, machining, assembly, and testing departments to ensure smooth workflow. Monitor shop floor activities and ensure timely execution of manufacturing processes. Optimize resource utilization (manpower, machines, and materials) for efficient production. Ensure adherence to quality standards and resolve any technical issues during manufacturing. Prepare and maintain production reports, KPIs, and documentation for audits and management review. Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering. Strong understanding of mechanical components and fabrication techniques. Experience with ERP systems (such as Tally, SAP, or custom software) for inventory and order management. Good negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques is a plus. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Proficiency in MS Excel and technical documentation.
