Role and Facility Information Northern Health is seeking to expand the group of Emergency Physicians in the Ksyen Regional Hospital Emergency Department in Terrace, BC. The KRH Emergency Department has double coverage between 8am and midnight. The day is divided into 4 shifts, two 8am to 5pm shifts and two 5pm to midnight shifts. Overnight shifts are single coverage from midnight to 8am. Full time employment is approximately 12-14 shifts per month. At 0.5 FTE and 0.75 FTE, this will include approximately 2 and 3 overnights per month, respectively. Scheduling is quite flexible with the opportunity to accommodate vacation requests and other clinical or teaching interests. The FTE component is negotiable, and CCFP-EM is a requirement. Clinical Work Provide direct & indirect patient care in emergency care situations. On a rotational basis, perform all nursing related work with utmost courtesy, dignity & empathy towards patients/donors, in the following stations - USG Room/OT/Injection Room/Ward/PCPNDT Room. USG Room - Provide any & every detail about the procedures, medications, and answer patient queries & subsequent follow-up. Position and cover the patient/donor for the procedures Reporting & documenting USG findings/treatment plan in File/Portal. Documenting the prescribed mediation/Stimulation/HRT drugs etc. & in file/portal/ providing Trigger time. Executing all Donor Related Activity, in association with Donor Coordinator. Injection Room - Administer injection to patient/donor, as prescribed in file. Maintain stock of all required injections/drugs. Ensure Cold Chain, as required. Documentation & Reporting Elicit accurate & relevant patient/donor medical history Co-ordinate procurement of necessary documents from patient/donor, per PCPNDT regulations. Update all patient records in both physical, as well as digital format. File all regulatory forms/consents before each procedure. Submit PCPNDT forms timely, as required by PCPNDT office. Maintain records of usage/supply of injections/drugs/equipments, for audit purposes. HRD For Internal Circulation only Communication & Co-operation Identify & provide for physical, emotional, and developmental needs of patients. Counsel patients & their families; explain procedures planned for them. Address patient & staff issues by using multidisciplinary team strategies.
