Ltd, Ancillary unit of Titagarh Rail System., Office t Chandigarh, Factory t Ambala, Haryana Reports To: Managing Director Job Type: Full-time Experience Level: [10+ years] Company Overview: A new manufacturing facility in Ambala, Haryana, is being established under the strategic guidance of Titagarh Rail Systems, a leader in rail infrastructure. This factory will focus on producing railway bogie springs and spring planks, essential components in railcar construction, to meet the growing demand for high-quality, domestically produced railway parts. This project aims to support India's rail sector by enhancing local manufacturing capabilities and contributing to the region's industrial growth. Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the operations of our railway coil spring manufacturing plant . The COO will be responsible for end-to-end operational excellence, ensuring optimal production output, quality assurance, cost management, safety compliance, and the implementation of lean manufacturing principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or metallurgical engineering with substantial leadership experience in a heavy manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Operations Management: Oversee daily operations of the plant, including production, maintenance, quality, safety, logistics, and procurement. Production Oversight: Ensure efficient and high-quality production of coil springs in compliance with railway standards (e.g., RDSO, UIC). Drive capacity utilisation and process improvements. Supply Chain & Logistics: Optimize supply chain efficiency from raw materials ordering to final product dispatch. Manage vendor relationships and inventory controls. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain stringent QA/QC systems. Ensure adherence to RDSO standards. Workforce Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing team across all departments. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Maintain a zero-accident policy and develop risk mitigation strategies. Budget & Cost Control: Monitor KPIs and drive cost optimisation without compromising quality or delivery timelines. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Metallurgical Engineering; MBA preferred. Minimum 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role . Proven experience managing a plant that produces railway components, heavy-duty springs, or similar engineered products. Deep understanding of spring manufacturing processes , heat treatment, quality control, and fatigue life testing. Familiarity with railway industry standards and regulatory environments (e.g., RDSO specifications, IRIS certification). Key Competencies: Strong leadership and people management skills Operational excellence and lean manufacturing expertise Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving Financial acumen and budget management High attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety Effective communication and stakeholder management Compensation: 1.
