The Horticulture Assistant will support day-to-day operations in plant care, landscaping, and nursery management. This role involves assisting with planting, pruning, watering, soil management, pest control, and maintaining greenery in nurseries, gardens, landscapes, or indoor/outdoor projects. The assistant will work closely with the horticulture/landscape manager to ensure healthy plant growth and aesthetically pleasing environments. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the planting, transplanting, pruning, and maintenance of trees, shrubs, flowers, and grasses. Water, fertilize, mulch, and apply pesticides or organic treatments as directed. Monitor plant health, identify diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies. Prepare soil mixes, compost, and maintain plant beds. Assist in greenhouse and nursery operations including propagation, repotting, labeling, and stock management. Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work areas. Support in landscaping projects, plant installations, and seasonal displays. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Report plant conditions and daily progress to the supervisor. Skills & Qualifications: Basic knowledge of plants, soil, fertilizers, and pest management. Ability to operate and maintain gardening/landscaping tools and equipment. Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Good observation skills and attention to detail. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Education: Minimum 10th/12th pass; Diploma/Certification in Horticulture preferred. Experience: Prior work in gardening, landscaping, or nursery preferred (but not mandatory). Growth Opportunities: Can progress to roles such as Senior Horticulture Assistant, Supervisor, or Horticulture Officer with experience and training.
