Role & responsibilities KRA Head of Composite Manufacturing 1. Production & Operations Ensure achievement of monthly/annual production targets as per business plan. Optimize lay-up, curing, trimming, assembly, and finishing processes for composites. Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) , machine utilization, and minimize downtime. Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma) initiatives. 2. Quality & Compliance Maintain product quality standards in line with AS9100 / ISO 9001 / customer specifications . Ensure adherence to NDT, dimensional inspection, and testing protocols . Implement zero-defect strategy and reduce rejection/rework costs. Ensure compliance with Factories Act, safety norms, and environmental regulations . 3. Cost & Resource Management Control material wastage, resin/fiber utilization, and consumable costs . Achieve productivity improvements through automation, process optimization, and manpower planning . Prepare and monitor manufacturing budgets and cost-saving projects . 4. People Management Lead, train, and mentor composite manufacturing teams (technicians, supervisors, engineers). Ensure skill matrix development for operators/technicians. Plan effective shift management to align with production schedules. Promote a culture of discipline, safety, and teamwork . 5. Technology & Process Development Evaluate and introduce new composite manufacturing techniques (RTM, prepreg, autoclave, infusion, hand layup, etc.). Collaborate with R&D and design teams for NPI (New Product Introduction). Drive automation, CNC trimming, 3D printing, and digital manufacturing adoption . 6. Customer & Delivery Ensure on-time delivery of composite parts/components as per customer schedule. Act as a key interface with customers, auditors, and certifying agencies . Manage project milestones and contract commitments . 7. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols in handling resins, chemicals, autoclave operations . Promote zero accident culture and conduct regular safety audits. Implement waste disposal, VOC monitoring, and environmental sustainability measures .
