About the job: We are seeking a quality control (QC) civil engineer with a strong understanding of quality testing for construction materials and familiarity with relevant IS codes. This position is crucial for ensuring that all construction materials meet strict quality and safety standards through systematic testing and analysis. Key Responsibilities: 1. Conduct a wide range of tests on construction materials such as cement, concrete, aggregates, steel, soil, bricks, and water as per relevant IS codes. 2. Prepare, organize, and maintain laboratory tests and field tests as required by project specifications and regulatory norms. 3. Analyze test results, document findings, and prepare detailed quality reports in compliance with company and statutory standards. 4. Ensure calibration, upkeep, and correct use of lab equipment and testing instruments. 5. Stay updated on the latest IS codes and quality standards for material testing and apply them in daily operations. 6. Identify and flag any deviations from quality requirements, suggest corrective actions, and follow up to ensure rectification. 7. Collaborate with site engineers, project managers, and vendors to ensure seamless communication regarding quality issues and test outcomes. 8. Participate in external and internal audits and support the quality certification process. Bachelor’s degree or diploma in civil engineering. 2. 0-1 years of experience in material testing and quality control preferred (freshers with strong academic knowledge on testing methods may also be considered). 3. In-depth knowledge of testing methods for key construction materials and hands-on experience with lab/field tests. 4. Familiarity with core IS codes relevant to construction material testing. 5. Ability to interpret standards, analyze test results, and prepare technical reports. 6. Attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. 7. Good verbal and written communication skills.
