About Us: Good Governance India Foundation (GGIF) is a public policy think-tank and NGO. It is starting a new initiative committed to safeguarding citizens right to safe streets and public health . With growing cases of dog attacks and rabies in Indian cities, our mission is to advocate for scientific, humane, and citizen-first solutions to the stray dog menace. We work to protect children, the elderly, and everyday citizens, particularly the less fortunate, from preventable harm. Key Responsibilities: Advocacy & Awareness Research and develop cases of stray dogs inflicting injury or death, on human beings Develop and run digital advocacy campaigns Draft persuasive communication: posts, press notes, incident spotlights, etc. Engage media houses and journalists to amplify citizen safety concerns Produce impactful storytelling using real community cases and data Community Engagement Build relationships with RWAs, schools, hospitals, and civic groups Document and verify reports on dog attacks and unsafe public areas Maintain organized data logs and neighborhood impact maps Conduct meetings, workshops, and safety awareness drives Soliciting donations from concerned citizens and running crowd funding campaigns Institutional & Government Liaison Support petition drafting and submissions to municipal/government bodies Assist legal teams with organizing evidence and citizen support Attend civic hearings/meetings representing impacted communities Volunteer Coordination Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for field and campaign work Build partnerships with aligned citizen forums and public health advocates Requirements: Candidates must have background (degree or experience) and/or experience in at least ONE of the following disciplines: Law (LLB, legal research, etc.) or Social Work/Public Health/Civic Rights /NGO work Skills: Excellent communication skills written and spoken Fluency in English + Hindi (additional regional languages a strong plus) Digital media/social advocacy experience preferred Strong documentation and organizational skills Ability to handle disagreements and backlash with maturity Willingness to travel locally within city areas when needed Mindset: Strong belief in human rights and public safety Clear stance on the urban stray dog issue as a threat to citizens, specially the less fortunate Confident taking a stand against ineffective and unsafe animal policies Balanced empathy: not necessarily anti-animal, but pro-human safety first
