Role Purpose The Production Manager will oversee the entire production process at our Coimbatore facility, ensuring that manufacturing operations run smoothly, efficiently and safely. You will be responsible for managing production planning, scheduling, resource allocation, maintaining product quality (particularly since our products serve critical energy applications), meeting output targets, continuous improvement, and effective coordination among production, maintenance, quality control and supply chain functions. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage production operations including manufacturing of servo stabilizers, isolation transformers and related energy solution equipment, ensuring timely delivery and output targets are met. Develop and implement production plans & schedules in line with demand, resource capacity and inventory levels. Monitor production performance (yield, throughput, downtime, scrap/rework) and identify areas for improvement. Ensure adherence to quality standards, ISO systems (the company is ISO 9001:2015 certified) and compliance with safety, health and environment (SHE) norms. Coordinate with Procurement/Stores for raw material availability, with Maintenance for equipment uptime, and with Engineering/Design for process improvements or new product launches. Drive continuous improvement initiatives: lean manufacturing, reduction of waste, process optimisation, cost control, productivity improvement. Oversee staffing of production floor: hiring/training of workers, shift scheduling, performance monitoring, and mentoring supervisors/technicians. Troubleshoot production issues: equipment breakdowns, quality deviations, bottlenecks; propose and implement corrective/preventive actions. Maintain production documentation: Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, production reports, downtime logs. Ensure safety compliance and promote a culture of safe working practices. Collaborate with Quality Assurance for inspection, testing, calibration of production inputs/outputs. Report to senior management on production metrics, KPIs, bottlenecks, and improvement plans. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Production) or equivalent. Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role in production. Experience in electrical manufacturing, transformers/servo stabilizers or heavy equipment is a plus. Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, lean manufacturing, quality systems, and safety norms. Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards, statistical process control (SPC), root-cause analysis, cost control. Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure, meet targets, and multi-task in a dynamic environment. Proficient in ERP/MRP systems, production management software and MS Office. Willingness to work on the shop floor and engage hands-on when needed.
