As a Registered Nurse working in the ICU with elderly patients, you will be responsible for monitoring and assessing patients, ensuring their vital signs and neurological status are continuously observed. You will administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, following specific protocols for geriatric patients. Additionally, you will be expected to perform advanced nursing procedures including mechanical ventilation management and hemodynamic monitoring when necessary. Collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams is essential to develop comprehensive care plans for geriatric ICU patients, taking into consideration patient and family preferences. Providing emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding ICU procedures, treatments, and recovery expectations is also a crucial aspect of this role. Documentation of all patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records is mandatory, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to hospital policies. Participation in patient rounds, case conferences, and care coordination meetings will allow you to optimize patient outcomes and ensure continuity of care. Infection control protocols must be strictly followed to maintain a sterile and safe environment within the ICU for patients, staff, and visitors. You should be prepared to respond promptly to emergency situations within the ICU, demonstrating proficiency in critical care nursing interventions. Continuous professional development through education, training, and participation in quality improvement initiatives specific to geriatric ICU care is encouraged. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred, although an Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) is acceptable. Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or Gerontological Nursing (RN-BC) is desirable. This is a full-time position with benefits including provided food and Provident Fund.
