Job Title: Optical Engineer – VR/AR Lens Design & Manufacturing Location: Hyderabad, India (On-site) About Us: GenXReality is building India’s first affordable, high-performance VR headset designed for education, training, and enterprise applications. We are solving the core challenges of VR accessibility by combining cutting-edge optics, hardware innovation, and sustainable manufacturing. Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Optical Engineer to lead the lens development of our VR headset. You will work on designing, sourcing, and manufacturing custom VR lenses to achieve the best possible clarity, field of view (FOV), and user comfort. This role requires close collaboration with mechanical, electronics, and product design teams to integrate optics into the headset seamlessly. Key Responsibilities: Lens Design & Simulation Design VR/AR lenses (Fresnel, aspheric, or pancake) using tools like Zemax OpticStudio, CODE V, or equivalent . Optimize lens geometry for minimal distortion, chromatic aberration, and maximum FOV. Work with display specifications to align optical parameters (eye relief, IPD, focal length). Prototyping & Testing Build and test lens prototypes for VR displays. Conduct optical performance evaluations (MTF, distortion mapping, clarity tests). Manufacturing & Sourcing Identify and liaise with Indian and international lens manufacturers . Work on mold design, injection molding, coating, and polishing processes. Ensure manufacturing meets optical tolerances and quality standards. Integration Collaborate with mechanical engineers to design lens holders and mounting systems. Ensure ergonomics and optical alignment are optimized for end users. Qualifications: Education: B.Tech/M.Tech in Optical Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering with Optics specialization , or related field. Experience: 3+ years in lens design and manufacturing for VR/AR, imaging systems, or defense optics. Experience with AR coatings, Fresnel lens manufacturing, and optical simulations . Skills: Lens design software (Zemax, CODE V, LightTools, SolidWorks with optical modules). Understanding of optical materials (PMMA, polycarbonate, glass). Familiarity with optical test equipment (interferometers, spectrometers). Preferred Background: Worked in VR/AR hardware companies , defense optics, or precision optics manufacturing. 🚀 We’re Hiring: AR/VR Developer – Web & Mobile Platforms Location: Hyderabad, India (On-site) Type: Full-time GenXReality is on a mission to create next-generation immersive experiences for education, training, and enterprise applications. We are looking for a passionate AR/VR Developer who can bring our vision to life across web and mobile platforms . Key Responsibilities: Develop and deploy AR/VR applications for both web and mobile devices. Implement interactive 3D experiences using frameworks like WebXR, WebGL, Unity, or Unreal Engine. Collaborate with designers, hardware engineers, and backend developers to integrate immersive content. Optimize applications for performance, usability, and scalability. Requirements: Proven experience in AR/VR development for web (WebXR, Three.js, Babylon.js, A-Frame) and mobile (Unity/Unreal with ARKit, ARCore). Strong programming skills in JavaScript, C#, or C++. Familiarity with 3D modeling, rendering pipelines, and asset optimization. Knowledge of deploying AR/VR apps to multiple platforms. Passion for immersive technologies and creative problem-solving. Bonus Skills: Experience with multiplayer VR experiences or cloud streaming. Understanding of spatial computing and AI/ML integration in AR/VR.
