Role Description Job Title Urban Planner 📌Position Overview Urban planners are responsible for developing and implementing urban spatial planning schemes , coordinating land use, infrastructure, environmental protection and social development to ensure sustainable development and efficient operation of cities. He/she is a core professional in urban development, public policy and construction projects, improving the functionality, aesthetics and livability of cities through scientific planning and policy recommendations . 🧭Main Responsibilities 1. Urban Planning and Design Formulate urban master plans, zoning plans and special planning schemes. Rationally plan land use, transportation networks, public facilities, green spaces and residential areas. Use GIS, CAD and other software for spatial analysis and visual design. Make strategic recommendations on land use optimization and urban development. II. Policy and Regulation Research Research national and local planning regulations, policies and standards to ensure planning schemes are legal and compliant. Provide policy advice and support government and business decision-making. Track urban development trends and international planning standards to optimize planning strategies. 3. Project Management and Coordination Participate in the whole process management of planning project establishment, design, review and implementation. Coordinate the work of government departments, design institutes, developers and public participants. Organize planning review meetings, hearings or public consultations to collect feedback and optimize plans. IV. Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection Integrate the concept of sustainable development into urban planning and optimize energy utilization, transportation systems and the ecological environment. Promote green buildings, low-carbon communities and smart city planning. Assess the environmental, social and economic impacts of planning schemes and make recommendations for improvements. V. Research and Data Analysis Collect and organize urban data, such as population, transportation, land use, and environmental indicators. Conduct urban development trend analysis, population forecast and land demand analysis. Prepare planning reports, feasibility studies and project proposals. 🎯Qualifications Bachelor degree or above in urban planning, urban design, urban and rural planning, geographic information systems or related majors; Master degree preferred. More than 3 years of experience in urban planning or design, with government or consulting project experience preferred. Familiar with urban planning laws, policies and standards. Master GIS, CAD, SketchUp, Rhino or other planning and design software. Excellent analytical, research, communication and coordination skills. Good English skills, participation in international projects is preferred.
