The Medical Coder will be responsible for reviewing medical records and assigning appropriate medical codes to diagnoses and procedures. The role involves detailed reviewing of physician notes, laboratory results, and other medical documentation to ensure accuracy in coding. The Medical Coder will also ensure that coding follows established guidelines and regulations to facilitate accurate billing and reporting. Qualifications Coding Experience, Medical Coding skills RHIT certification and Health Information Management knowledge Understanding of Medical Terminology Strong analytical and attention to detail skills Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Relevant experience in the healthcare industry is a plus Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field
