GCP Expert

Responsibilities

• Implementation & Deployment:

  Lead the deployment of cloud infrastructure and applications, using

  Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  tools like

  Terraform

  or

  Cloud Deployment Manager

  .

• Security & Compliance:

  Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to industry-specific regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS) and internal security policies. Implement robust security controls, including

  Identity and Access Management (IAM)

  , network security (VPC, firewalls), and data encryption.

• Performance & Cost Optimization:

  Monitor and optimize the performance and cost of GCP resources. Use tools like

  Cloud Monitoring

  and

  Cloud Logging

  to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Implement strategies for cost control, such as rightsizing resources and leveraging committed use discounts.

• Automation & DevOps:

  Develop and maintain

  CI/CD pipelines

  using tools like

  Cloud Build

  or Jenkins. Automate routine tasks and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.

• Technical Leadership:

  Serve as a subject matter expert on GCP for internal teams. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices for cloud adoption and governance.

• Collaboration:

  Work with cross-functional teams, including application development, data science, and cybersecurity, to ensure seamless project delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years

  of hands-on experience as a Cloud Architect, Cloud Engineer, or a similar role, with at least

  3 years of dedicated experience on GCP

  .
• Proven experience in the

  banking or financial services domain

  , with a strong understanding of the sector's regulatory and security landscape.
• Expertise in core GCP services, including but not limited to:

• Compute:

  Compute Engine, GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), Cloud Functions.

• Storage & Databases:

  Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner.

• Networking:

  VPC, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud CDN.

• Security:

  IAM, Cloud Armor, Security Command Center.
• Proficiency with

  IaC tools

  like Terraform or Ansible.
• Strong scripting skills in languages like Python or Bash.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (

  Docker

  ) and orchestration (

  Kubernetes

  ).
• Experience with

  CI/CD tools

  (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Cloud Build).
• In-depth knowledge of security best practices, including threat modeling and vulnerability management.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
